With all thanks To "Nautical Bob",  I was privileged to be part of the adventure of a lifetime.  I was the official photographer for:  "How To Bareboat" It's easier than you think.  For seven days in the British Virgin Islands, I was photographing the beautiful scenery and adventures of the islands aboard a 43 foot mono-hull sailboat.   This might not be "National Geographic", but I sure can pretend.

Photos - Mike Howard

How to Bareboat will feature beautiful photos of BVI scenes and action by Mike Howard, a beach portrait and wedding photographer in Cocoa Beach, Florida.  He is a member of the elite Canon Professional Services group. Mike was chosen for this project primarily for his skill in working in the bright sun on beaches and near the water.  He is also a rookie sailor and first time visitor to the BVI.  We want to capture the first-timers impressions of this paradise and Mike is perfect for the job.  As a PARROTHEAD** and guitar player, Mike also is in charge of "tunes" for the research cruise.

How to Bareboat...It's easier than you think, offers recommendations for day-by-day sailing destinations for 7 and 10 day vacations. These Float Plans™ are complete with menus matched to shopping lists to make provisioning your yacht a breeze.  We will even put you in the right place when you need to dump your garbage or replenish the beer and ice supplies.

We can recommend the best deals on shopping and dining ashore.  We know where to find the best lobsters or that "Cheeseburger in Paradise." We know where the parties will be and also where the secluded beaches and most romantic harbors are found.

We'll show you where to get the best "painkillers" - the trade-mark drink of the BVI. And we can direct you to the legendary Soggy Dollar bar that originated them:

How to Make a  Painkiller

2 oz dark rum (Pusser's preferred)
3 oz Pineapple Juice
1 oz Orange Juice
1 oz Cream of Coconut

Shake all ingredients with ice and strain into a glass filled with fresh ice. Garnish with an orange wedge, a cherry and a dash or two of nutmeg.

Go out and get the ingredients, mix up a couple and come back to the website...
